- Make a proper choice while choosing a container. You can either purchase it or start from the scratch. While selecting go for proper sized containers keeping the size of the plant in mind.
- Next important criteria is the soil. It is the sole source from which plants obtain nutrients and water. A mixture of peat moss, coconut choir, compost, horticultural sand, pumice, perlite, vermicompost and dolomite lime forms a very good organic pot soil.
- A good mulch protects the soil from sudden climatic changes and also increases the it’s fertility and water holding capacity. Animal manure is very good for the soil and also favors the growth of plant friendly microbes.
- Plants should be exposed to adequate amount of sunlight so they can grow well. During mild seasons plants should be sheltered in locations with appropriate sunlight.
- Humidity and temperature within the house should be maintained. A humidifier can be installed to maintain the indoor temperature.
- Required amounts of water should be given everyday. Do not over water or under water your plants. Never let the plant to wilt, keep watering it everyday.
- While choosing seeds go for best quality healthy and organic seeds. Its better to grow the seedlings indoor before transferring them into containers so that they adopt themselves to the new environment.
- While choosing the tools go for ones you are comfortable with. Make sure you do not end up choosing heavy tools.
Use only organic and homemade pesticides instead of synthetic chemicals.
