Hydroponics is an innovative way of growing plants. Hydroponics provides potion for growing plants without soil any where even indoors or extremely limited space.
Basics Of Hydroponics:
Hydroponics Do Not Require Water: Hydroponics is Science of growing plants without using soil. It is a huge advantage as large variety of different growing mediums can be utilised to best suit each plant type. One important thing that has to be noted is that hydro does not only operate in absence of soil but it hates soil. So, never mix the two systems as the natural microbes of soil will contaminate or damage your Hydro system.
Normal Water is Not Used For Irrigating: As the plants of nature take their nutrients from soil so they must be provided with nutrient mixed distilled water. So, normal water must be used for irrigation.
Light Is Essential: For any kind of growing light is essential. But as Hydroponics grows indoors or in limited area natural light can be provided easily so they must be kept on artificial light system.
Plants Of Hydroponics Have Small Roots: Plants which grow in hydroponics normally have small roots. This is because these plants get their nutrition from the solution carrying nutrients in them. This source is very near and they directly dip their roots in nutrition filled water so they do not have to stretch their roots. Roots of natural plants have long roots as they have to go deep in search of nutrition.
Hydroponics requires flowing water: Hydroponics require water pump because it grows in flowing water only. This is because stagnant water will choke plants to death. Hydroponics grown plants are cultivated in mineral water so that necessary minerals and nutrients that are required by plants can be directly taken by roots. Few Hydroponics require porous growing medium where water passes through. While others let plants to float through so that they can absorb nutrients from there.
